DISC - discriminates the kind of metal being detected.

Volume - adjusts the volume of the speaker (and optional headphones).
Earphone Jack - lets you connect stereo headphones to the detector.
View meter and pointer - the meter pointer swings to the right if metal is found.
Water proof search coil - lets you search for metal under shallow water.
Adjustable stem - lets you adjust the detectors length for comfortable use.
